Event: Broccoli City Festival @ the Fairgrounds, April 21

broc_cityflyer

The Fairgrounds at Half Street SE has become an unlikely boon to the city’s social scene. Any empty lot in SE enclosed by stacks of storage containers would have made a great venue for a crack den just 10 years ago, but lately the venue has become the premier pregame destination for Nationals fans and a great pop-up entertainment venue.

Next weekend, in honor of Earth Day, the Fairgrounds will play host to the Broccoli City Festival. The event will feature a variety of attractions including yoga, food trucks, art and live music.

The music lineup features a solid list of emerging artists with more established acts like Big K.R.I.T. and JMSN headlining the bill. Both headliners have a healthy amount of buzz in their respective circles, but we are really stoked on the locals: Tittsworth, Phil Ade, Misun, Locke Kaushal, Kingpen Slim and more.

Check the flyer above for all the details. Tickets start at $29 and can be purchased here.

Glastonbury Festival announces stupid huge lineup.

Who wants to plan a trip to England??

The reclusive robot duo’s VEVO page may have spoiled a huge surprise for this year’s Coachella Music & Arts festival. If you look at the bar on the right, it seems to indicate Daft Punk will be performing at Empire Polo Field on April 12, 2013. In summation: Holy fucking shit.

UPDATE: Vevo was toying with our emotions.

When Firefly Festival released its lineup announcement video, we kept wondering who was responsible for the awesome mash-up track in the background.

Mystery solved. Firefly artist/Mash-up DJ duo, The White Panda, has released an extended cut of the track on its SoundCloud page.

Bonnaroo Announces Lineup, Steals Thunder

Right on the heels of Friefly’s big announcement, the O.G. of outdoorsy mega-festivals has swept in to steal the thunder. Seriously, Bonnaroo’s lineup kind of bitch smacked Firefly’s–and that’s saying something because Firefly’s lineup is pretty damn good.

Paul McCartney and the Wu-Tang Clan will be at the same festival. You win, Bonnaroo.

Other notables include: Mumford & Sons, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, R. Kelly, Lumineers, the XX, Kendrick Lamar, Animal Collective, Of Monsters and Men, Nas, ZZ Top, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, A$AP Rocky, Tame Impala, Foals, Alt-J, Django Django, Death Grips, Japandroids, JEFF the Brotherhood, Reptar and shit-load more.
