Album Review: RDGLDGRN, ‘RDGLDGRN LP’
To the uninitiated, RDGLDGRN raises a lot of questions. Are they a rock band or a rap group? How did this relatively unknown band end up working with guys like Dave Grohl and Pharrell Williams? Why do they hate vowels so much?
After listening to the band’s self-titled LP, those questions start to become obsolete–except maybe the last one. Despite having a name that does not lend itself to spell-check, RDGLDGRN has managed to create a truly unique sound that defies conventional genre restrictions. The biggest test for the band on its debut full-length is its ability to stay focused while maintaining its genre-defying identity.

Apparently, the boys from RDGLDGRN were doing a little more than performing during the band’s recent European tour. Check out this visual for the new Angel Haze-assisted track “Lootin’ In London.”
The video features the Virginia natives roaming the streets of London with an unruly mob fit for a a Guy Ritchie film. Props to Green for the Minor Threat and Bad Brains shout-outs.

RDGLDGRN On Jimmy Kimmel Live
Local rock/go-go/hip-hop fusion band, RDGLDGRN made its television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. We had the pleasure of meeting Gold and Green at SXSW last week, and we’re super stoked for them–really nice guys.
New Music: RDGLDGRN, ‘Red Gold Green EP’
Get hip to this band now, because it is only a matter of time until RDGLDGRN is everywhere. Hailing from Reston, Va., the trio has developed a blend of indie-rock and hip-hop that is ridiculously infectious and long on crossover appeal.
In anticipation of its forthcoming full-length debut, the band has released the Red Gold Green EP. It is a brief four tracks, but a solid argument for RDGLDGRN being the next big thing out of the DMV.
Oh yeah, the band may also benefit from the contributions of two fellow Virginians. This guy named Dave Grohl plays drums on the entire EP, while super-producer Pharrell Williams lends his talents to the track “Doing the Most.” We guess that will help build some buzz, right?
The future is looking pretty bright for the trio who identify themselves only as Red, Gold and Green, respectively.
